Due to Lukas being injured on the continent last night he has been advised by doctors not to ride tonight.

Eastbourne will be using their number 8 tonight at number 6 for Lukas, so we can see Chris Schramm once more this season in the Eagles colours

If the next meeting 26th is rained off and people still want to book the Ipswich coach....either ring me to pre-book thier seats (07940-351402) or I will be at the track entrance between 6.30pm - 7.30pm to take money and bookings.
I will be able to take money on the day, BUT seats must be pre-booked with me first (as I need to know where people need picking up).
Thanks
Karen

EAGLES PUT KNOCKOUT CUP ON HOLD

A combination of difficulties regarding rider availability coupled with a poor local weather forecast has prompted the management of the Eastbourne ‘Lifestyle’ Eagles to make the early call to postpone their Knockout Cup Quarter Final clash against local rivals, the Lakeside Hammers, a match previously scheduled for this coming Thursday.

Having hoped to enter the contest tracking a full strength side, the Sussex club's plans have been thrown into disarray with Tomasz Jedrzejak’s involvement having been denied them after the Pole’s domestic club Tarnow’s  meeting fell victim to the weather on Sunday afternoon and was swiftly re-arranged for Thursday evening, the same night as Eastbourne’s home match with Lakeside.

With no facility to cover the Pole’s absence available to them, the Sussex club have, albeit reluctantly preferred the option of putting the meeting on hold, instead of heading into one of their most important matches of the season shorthanded.

The Eagles management would like to thank Lakeside Team boss Jon Cook for his co-operation and agreement as to the postponement, a re-staging on 23rd September now appearing the favoured date for the Eagles and Hammers to finally lock horns with the 2nd leg 24 hours later at Lakeside.

Commenting on the postponement, Co-Promoter Mike Bellerby said, 'We fully appreciate that the postponement is inconvenient for Eagles fans, but as the Knock-out Cup provides us with our last chance of a trophy this year, there was no way that we wanted to field a less than 100% full strength team. To do so, would have been unfair to supporters and would have jeopardized our chances of progressing in the competition. I can also confirm that the Kids for a Quid arrangement with the Argus will operate as normal for our Meeting against Wolverhampton on the 26th August and we are discussing with the newspaper the extension of the Scheme into September."

EAGLES KEEP BUSY BEHIND THE SCENES

life-eagle-logo1In spite of Speedway’s relative inactivity on the domestic front due to the Sports showpiece World Cup competition, one that saw Poland ultimately retain their title at Vojens on Sunday to maintain their position at the helm of the International scene, being staged over the course of the last week, the Eastbourne ‘Lifestyle’ Eagles certainly have not let the grass grow beneath their feet during this spell of Elite League down time.
Representatives of the club have had a busy time of things having become involved in the Sussex Police’s Week of Action, based in the Hailsham East Area over the last week, this being at the invitation of the Force and in collaboration with other organizations such as the Ambulance and the Coastguard Service, all of whom, like the Eagles have been putting on displays outlining the services they provide.
The initiative was centred on the Hailsham East Community Hall in Vega Close, culminating in a 999 day on Saturday last, the purpose of which being to bring the community and the Police closer together, thus reducing some of the tensions and concerns of local residents.
The Eagles exhibition, which included a Beat the Starter Challenge, one that had previously proved popular at other events such as the Lewes Carnival and Denton Summer Fair recently, proved a particular success and it is hoped both by the Sussex Club as well as the Local Constabulary that this will mark the start of a longer term arrangement.
